The Annual Conference will take place at one of the UK’s finest convention centres, Manchester Central. The state of the art facility at Manchester Central regularly houses national and international events. The exhibition of the Annual Conference will be held in Exchange Hall, along with the scientific posters and catering stations.
As the name suggests Manchester Central is located in the centre of the city. A range of amenities, hotels, restaurants and museums are all located close to the conference venue.
We are delighted to bring the 2019 Annual Conference to Manchester. The first time the conference has been held in the UK. Manchester has undergone a real transformation in the last 10-15 years making it a bustling metropolis and a hive of industry.
Manchester is easily accessible from all major cities either by using the city’s own international airport or via a short train ride from London’s main hub airports.
Each year the SMBE conference brings together over 1,000 evolutionary biologists. The varied and fascinating scientific programme provides outstanding opportunities for invited speakers and abstract presenters to showcase their work and research to a broad range of delegates from all over the world.
SMBE is unusually active in supporting attendance from all sections of the scientific community, providing a robust travel bursary programme for delegates that otherwise wouldn’t be able to travel and attend the conference.
